According to Business Insider, GoMining has opened its "Instant Funds" feature to its full user base in supported markets, letting holders of digital Bitcoin miner NFTs unlock stablecoin liquidity without divesting from the underlying asset.
The mechanism treats each eligible miner as on-chain collateral, therefore allowing the holder to retain exposure to Bitcoin mining rewards while drawing USDT or USDC against the position. In effect, this is an overcollateralized lending primitive grafted onto a tokenized hashrate product — a step forward for composability between yield-bearing NFTs and stablecoin rails.
Loan terms and capital efficiency
Positions are structured on a fixed 30-day cycle. The headline APR is 0%, but origination fees of 1.5% to 2.5% — scaled by VIP tier — apply at opening and at each mandatory automatic renewal. Borrowing capacity is capped at 30% of the miner's collateral value, with a $5 minimum draw and a $10,000 aggregate ceiling per user. Crucially, no limit exists on the number of concurrent positions within that ceiling, meaning holders can fragment liquidity across multiple NFTs rather than concentrating exposure on a single asset.
Eligibility and liquidation logic
Not every miner qualifies. At launch, Instant Funds is gated to miners operating at 12 watts per terahash or better; GoMining has signaled the threshold will tighten over time, conversely shrinking the eligible pool as fleet efficiency improves. Additional constraints: the NFT must reside in the platform wallet, cannot be listed on GoMining's secondary marketplace, and cannot carry an active Mine Now, Pay Later plan or an overdue auto-upgrade subscription. KYC Level 1 verification is mandatory, with EEA users routed specifically into USDC.
The risk engine follows a standard loan-to-value (LTV) curve with one notable design choice. When a position crosses the 60% LTV mark, it enters a seven-day buyback window. From that trigger through the buyback period — and through any subsequent auction — mining rewards are forfeited rather than returned to the user. In practice, holders approaching the liquidation line are penalized twice: they lose the collateral buffer and the yield stream simultaneously. That forfeited-yield clause is a structural cost absent from most DeFi lending markets, and it should be priced into any decision to lock collateral rather than exit.
What to verify before borrowing
Three parameters warrant direct inspection in the app before opening a position: the current LTV ratio against the 60% threshold, the miner's W/TH efficiency against the 12 W/TH eligibility gate, and any pending marketplace listings or MNPL obligations that would silently disqualify the NFT. GoMining ranks among the top-10 Bitcoin mining entities by hashrate globally and serves more than 5.5 million users, so the platform has operational scale — but the intersection of NFT collateral mechanics, stablecoin debt, and active mining yield creates a layered risk profile that deserves the same scrutiny applied to any leveraged on-chain position.
